Obama Lies, Babies Die

Barack Obama supports infanticide. He supports the legality of murdering newborn infants by refusing to provide medical care to infants who survived an abortion. Obama's indifference to the deaths of babies indicates what kind of person he is.

When Obama was a state senator in Illinois, Jill Stanek, who was working as a nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL testified before the Illinois senate of the hospital's policy of refusing medical care to babies who survived abortion. Christ Hospital was using “induced labor abortion,” which is designed to kill the baby by prematurely delivering it, often used to abort babies with Down Syndrome when the mother decides that it would be easier to kill the baby than to raise a baby with a disability. The baby dies as it is being born or soon afterwards. Jill Stanek mentioned in her testimony of a baby that had Down Syndrome, who was at about 21 weeks, expending all of his energy trying to breathe, until he suffocated forty-five minutes after birth because his lungs were not yet developed enough to operate properly. In 2001 the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA) came before the Illinois senate. Obama voted “no” in the Senate Judiciary Committee and voted “present” on the senate floor, which is the same as no. He argued that if you define babies who have been born prematurely as persons, that “it would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an antiabortion statute. For that purpose, I think it would probably be found unconstitutional.” His argument makes no sense, the proposed law was clearly about fully born babies, not babies still in the womb. Regardless, it is disturbing that he would rather have babies be murdered just to protect a woman’s right to kill her baby in the womb.

The bill came up again in 2002. This time Obama voted “no” in the Senate Judiciary Committee and he voted “no” on the senate floor. In 2002 he argued that this legislation would increase the liability of the doctor. If the main concern of hospitals is to decrease the liability of doctors then perhaps Obama should propose a law stating that doctor’s don’t need to give medical treatment to any of their patients. It would be a perfect hospital, people could die, but the doctors have no liability. His views on such subjects should also be kept in mind when he is discussing his plans of universal health care.

The Democrats took control of the Illinois senate in the 2002 elections. In 2003, they sent the BAIPA to the Health and Human Services Committee chaired by Barack Obama. Obama prevented it from being voted on in committee. The BAIPA finally passed in Illinois in 2005, after Obama left.

The federal government has passed the same bill in 2002. Obama now says that he would have supported the federal bill because the bill specifically mentions that the law will not effect abortion. This is a lie, as chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee he denied the sponsor of the bill’s attempts to put that same language into the bill.

It's hard to believe that out of all the people in the United States, when we narrow it down to two people to run for president, one of them supports the legal murder of babies. Because it is hard to believe you might want to look at official sources if you doubt what I write to be true. Here are some links.

2001:
Senate Bill 1095, BAIPA
Obama's opposition to BAIPA on Illinois Senate floor, pages 84-90
Obama's "present" vote

2002:
Senate Bill 1662, BAIPA
Obama's opposition to BAIPA on Illinois Senate floor, pages 28-35
Obama's "no" vote

2003:
Senate Bill 1082, BAIPA
Health and Human Services Committee, chaired by Barack Obama
As chairman, Obama refuses BAIPA to be voted on
Amendment making it identical to the federal bill, clarifying the bill doesn't apply to abortion

Obama said he would have voted for the federal bill even though he prevented the same bill in Illinois from being voted on. He is hoping that voters aren't paying enough attention to recognize his lies. At least he is not a typical politician, he is an agent of change, hope, and infanticide.

The Bubs said...

Obama's strategy to hope voters aren't paying attention seems to be how the Democrats have operated lately.
